I started a new photography project - http://thousandbottles.tumblr.com
A good friend of mine from Grenada got me this rum for my birthday. As you can see I’ve managed to put a small dent in it.
Continuing with the lighting experiments. This is a similar two-softbox setup. I used two lengths of black fabric (the softbox cases, actually) to create the darker bottle edges for definition.
I think my light sources need to be more diffused so the highlights aren’t as harsh. And a full bottle probably wouldn’t hurt either…
Jamoon (or Jamun) wine, made in Trinidad. I picked up a bottle at the San Antonio Green Market a couple weeks ago because the taste was very similar to port, which I much prefer to regular wine.
The distinctively-shaped bottle seemed like a good subject to experiment with lighting. This is a three-light setup, two softboxes behind and at an angle to the bottle and a flash with a Rogue grid to highlight the label.
Working on a shoot last night and our kitty photobombed us so I gave him a mini shoot of his own.
A few more of the abandoned building in Icacos
Deep South road trip
A couple weeks ago a friend asked me to shoot his surprise proposal. His plan was to take the girl out to “meet some friends”. Then he’d excuse himself to the bathroom, change into his suit, and have the waitstaff tell the girl their friends had arrived and were waiting for her upstairs.
I guess she thought he was taking too long. :)
(She still said yes.)
Yesterday a company told us, “we’re on Pembroke Street, a quarter mile from Zen.”
Now I don’t know about you, but I suck at visually measuring miles, or any parts thereof. But I was in the area so I went looking.
Know where I found them? Opposite the jail.
No, they’re surprisingly not a PR agency.
